600 - Base+4 - Central Plant Cooling Tower Disinfection Services at VALBHS

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs - VA Long Beach Healthcare System (VALBHS) is seeking semi-annual cooling tower disinfection services. This request for information (RFI) is for market research and planning purposes to assess the capabilities of small businesses, including Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB/VOSB), to perform the required work. The contract aims to ensure the proper maintenance and disinfection of cooling towers to support the healthcare system's operations.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing semi-annual disinfection services for six cooling towers at VALBHS. The work includes:

1. Providing all labor, parts, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary for the disinfection services.

2. Scheduling all maintenance with the Contract Officer's Representative (COR).

3. Ensuring that all personnel have completed required safety training certifications, including OSHA safety courses.

4. Coordinating with the COR to obtain proper identification badges prior to starting work.

5. Adhering to hospital policies regarding safety measures and ensuring a safe working environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

6. Completing all work during normal business hours (Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM).

7. Obtaining necessary permits from the VHA Safety Office before commencing work, which may include Pre-Construction Risk Assessments and various activity hazard analyses.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed on a semi-annual basis over a period of five years, consisting of a base year plus four option years.

The services will be performed at the VA Long Beach Healthcare System located at 5901 East 7th Street, Long Beach, CA, 90822.
