RFQ LIGHT FIXTURE REPLACEMENT/REPAIR
Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is issuing this contract to provide a one-time service for the installation of light fixtures in the Boiler Plant at the WJB Dorn VA Medical Center located in Columbia, South Carolina. The facility is a 216-bed hospital that provides various levels of medical care. The goal of this contract is to enhance the lighting in the Boiler Plant to ensure safety and efficiency.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all material, travel, labor, and supervision required to perform Boiler Light Replacement Service for the Columbia VAMC. Specific tasks include:

1. Removal of existing light fixtures:
- Eight (8) ceiling lights approximately 30 feet high, accessible with a lift.
- Seven (7) ceiling light fixtures approximately 10 feet high, accessible with a regular ladder.
- Disposal of removed fixtures by the contractor.

2. Installation of new light fixtures:
- Provide 16 new Duralumens EXPL Series lights (EXPL-120W-50K). Specifications include:
- Electrical: 120-277V, 120W, 60 Hz, Power Factor >0.90, UL certified for hazardous locations.
- Mechanical: Aluminum alloy housing, IP66 rated for wet locations.
- Lighting: LED with total lumens of 15600LM and color temperature of 5000K.
- Install eight (8) lights at existing brackets and connections on lower deck.
- Run electrical wiring and mount brackets for one (1) new fixture between Boiler 3 and Boiler 4.
- Ensure work area is blocked off during installation to prevent personnel traffic disruption.

3. Safety Requirements: Tools must be secured; debris removed daily; compliance with smoke-free campus regulations.

Period of Performance
The period of performance will not exceed two months from the award date, with work scheduled Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, excluding federal holidays.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have relevant experience in performing similar installations and must ensure that all personnel have completed a 30-hour OSHA Construction Training. The contractor must check in and out with Engineering in Building 21 prior to performing services.
