Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Long Beach Medical Center requires inspection services for vertical transportation systems, including elevators, cartlifts, and dumbwaiters.
The goal of this contract is to ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and elevator industry standards, laws, and regulations through the provision of certified inspection services.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide a QEI-1 Certified Elevator Inspector to conduct the following tasks:
- Perform one Annual Safety Test and one Five Year Load Test per year for all elevators, cartlifts, and dumbwaiters.
- Ensure inspections comply with manufacturer guidelines, current codes, directives, regulations, Joint Commission standards, and industry standards at the VA Long Beach Healthcare System.
- Provide all necessary equipment, expertise, labor, materials, supervision, tools, and qualified personnel for inspection services.
- Check in with the Electric Shop Supervisor prior to performing any work.
- Issue temporary ID badges for contractor personnel while on station.
- Repair any damages incurred during the performance of work at no cost to the VA.
- Follow all OSHA regulations regarding Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Provide independent elevator inspection services that include verification and certification of annual and semi-annual inspections and safety tests.
- Notify the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) and Elevator Maintenance Contractor at least fifteen days prior to proposed inspection dates.
- Complete written reports within ten business days after inspections detailing findings and recommendations for repairs or adjustments needed.

Period of Performance
The period of performance is expected to begin on or around September 30, 2025, lasting for one year.

The contract will be performed at the Long Beach VA Healthcare System located at 5901 E. 7th Street, Long Beach, CA 90822.
