School Bus Repairs for Jeehdeez'a Elem. Sch.

Background
The Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) is issuing this solicitation for school bus repairs at Jeehdeez'a Elementary School, located in the northern rural region community of Low Mountain, Arizona. The school serves as a focal point for the community and provides education to over 90 students from Kindergarten to 5th grade.

The transportation of students involves navigating over 150 miles of unimproved roads, which contributes to significant wear and tear on the school's transportation fleet. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safe and reliable operation of a 2023 International CE 54-passenger school bus that is past its warranty period for many components.

Work Details
The contractor will perform necessary repairs on the school bus, including:
- Conducting an overall assessment of the bus's condition.
- Repairing or replacing the left front shock.
- Repairing or replacing a cracked differential.
- Troubleshooting and repairing/replacing two rear floor heaters that are not functioning.
- Repairing or replacing the front fender where broken and any necessary components to meet road standards.
- Repairing or replacing the broken HVAC heater temperature control knob.
- Providing labor to install, replace, troubleshoot, and test all functions found deficient during the assessment.

Additionally, the contractor is responsible for transporting the bus from the school to a repair facility and returning it upon completion of repairs, as Jeehdeez'a Elementary School does not have facilities for conducting these repairs.

The period of performance for this contract is from January 20, 2025, to June 30, 2025.
