HAVO CAT Loader & Grader Equipment Repair

Background
The National Park Service (NPS) is issuing this contract for the repair of heavy construction equipment, specifically the Caterpillar 120M2 Grader and Caterpillar IT14G Wheel Loader, at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park (HAVO). The equipment has experienced failures beyond end-user level repair during normal park maintenance activities.

The goal of this contract is to restore the functionality of these machines to support ongoing park operations.

Work Details
The Contractor shall provide all tools, equipment, parts, and labor necessary to perform the following tasks:

1. Repair Caterpillar 120M2 Grader:
- Task 1: Fuel Systems Repair - Replace degraded fuel injection pump, fuel injectors, fuel lines, and associated minor parts. Ensure functionality post-repair.
- Task 2: Grader Annual Service - Conduct annual service per manufacturer specifications including engine and air filter replacements, oil changes, and hydraulic filter replacements.

2. Repair Caterpillar IT14G Wheel Loader:
- Task 1: Fuel Systems Inspection - Identify source of a small fuel leak and recommend repairs.
- Task 2: Fuel Injection Pump Replacement - Replace degraded fuel injection pump and reinstall cooling system. Check functionality post-repair.
- Task 3: Wheel Loader 1000 Hour Service - Conduct service per manufacturer specifications including engine and air filter replacements, oil changes, and hydraulic filter replacements.

Period of Performance
The estimated period of performance for this contract is from August 16, 2024, to December 14, 2024.

Place of Performance
The repairs will be conducted off-site at the contractor's shop with approval from the Contracting Officer.
