CATCH BASIN CLEANING SERVICES - NATIONAL MALL & MEMORAL PARKS, WASHINGTON DC   3

Background
The National Park Service (NPS), Department of Interior, anticipates issuing a solicitation for the project described. This is a pre-solicitation notice only and does not constitute a solicitation; accordingly, no response is due at this time. The purpose of this requirement is to find a single qualified and responsible contractor with a minimum of three years’ experience specific to catch basin cleaning, hazardous material hauling and disposal, and traffic management to provide services that will help prevent breakdowns in the flow of storm water, prevent flooding, and reduce pollutants from getting into nearby waterways.

Work Details
The National Mall and Memorial Parks (NAMA) has 654 individual catch basins along with sewer ejector pits, oil/water separators, trench drains, and numerous miles of piping throughout Washington DC for which the National Park Service is responsible. All of these require annual cleaning and inspection. The contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, equipment, and material necessary to successfully clean, remove, and properly dispose of sludge, dirt, and debris from catch basins, oil/water separators, storm sewer piping, trench drains, and sewage lift station pits. During and/or after cleaning operations, the contractor shall be responsible for inspecting these structures for structural deficiencies and/or potential problems and report findings.

Period of Performance
The contract performance period is expected to be 6/1/2022 – 5/31/2023 with the option of four consecutive years and a six-month extension.
