IRST Electronic Control Unit and Special Test Equipment   3

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Patuxent River, MD intends to negotiate and award a sole source, Firm Fixed Price contract to Meggitt Defense Systems, INC (MSDI) to procure eleven (11) F/A-18E/F Infrared Search and Track (IRST) Block II Environmental Control Unit (ECU) Weapon Replaceable Assemblies (WRAs) and Special Test Equipment (STE).

THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS AND NO COMPETITIVE SOLICITATION WILL BE ISSUED.

This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority 10 USC 2304 (C)(1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. As the contractor for the ECU WRA, MSDI has the manufacturing knowledge, experience, and technical data required to fulfill this requirement within the time required. There is no commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation, make an award or awards, or be responsible for any money expended by interested parties before award of a contract for the effort described above.
