Invitation to Bid: Mixed Scrap Steel Term Sale at Naval Support Activity Monterey

Background
The Navy Region Southwest (NRSW) Qualified Recycling Program (QRP) is inviting bids for a term sale of Mixed Scrap Steel. This initiative aligns with the mission of NRSW to manage recycling efforts effectively and sustainably.

Work Details
The contract involves the sale of Mixed Scrap Steel, which includes various materials such as pipe, shelving, vehicle parts, and California appliances. The materials will be picked up from Naval Support Activity Monterey (NSAM). Specific details include:
- Material: Mixed Scrap Steel (including but not limited to pipe, shelving, vehicle parts, and California appliances).
- Designated California appliances will be segregated from other scrap steel for separate pickup.

Loads may contain light steel such as lockers and desks, as well as heavy steel such as pipes, angle iron, cast iron, cable, containers such as conex boxes etc., in both prepared and un-prepared sizes. Incidental non-ferrous metals may be included in loads picked up. The buyer must provide a current list of prices being paid at their buy back center upon request.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide current California appliance recycler certification or the current certificate of the company processing the bidder's material meeting the requirements of a California appliance recycler. Additionally, prior to the start of the agreement, successful bidders must provide proof of insurance on all vehicles used in performance of this agreement. Drivers must meet base access requirements at NSAM.
