Description

Please see attached draft PWS.

Background
The Defense Health Agency (DHA) / Operational Medicine (OPMED) requires the delivery of the Intermediate Medical Acquisition Course (IMAC), which is a medically focused acquisition course aligned with Defense Acquisition University (DAU) standards. This training is essential for equipping DHA personnel with the necessary medical acquisition fundamentals for medical research and development, lifecycle management, and program execution.

The IMAC addresses the need for a DAU-certified course tailored to the unique requirements of medical product development, integrating Department of Defense (DOD) acquisition systems with FDA processes and industry best practices. OPMED serves as the lead for medical acquisition within DHA, providing guidance to leadership lacking in medical and program management experience.

Work Details
The contractor shall deliver six (6) offerings annually of the 40-hour Intermediate Medical Acquisition Course (IMAC), which must:
- Align with DAU PM Level II learning objectives.
- Be medically focused on FDA pathways, medical devices, drugs, and vaccines.
- Support Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
- Provide medically relevant acquisition scenarios and instruction.

Delivery may be in-person or via Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT), with provisions for both methods due to unforeseen events. The contractor must ensure that all necessary personnel and training materials are provided for virtual delivery, excluding laptops and internet connections for attendees. The course should accommodate a minimum of 25 to a maximum of 30 attendees.

Additionally, a truncated version of the DAU-certified course will be offered for senior leaders, lasting between 16 to 22 hours. This version will focus on high-level objectives without delving into details. The contractor is responsible for maintaining attendance records, administering evaluations/surveys post-training, and issuing certificates of completion within specified timeframes.

Place of Performance
The courses will be conducted at DOD facilities at Fort Detrick and other CONUS DOD sites or non-DOD sites. Virtual offerings may also be conducted with Government Point of Contact approval.
