Description

This Notice serves as The Portsmouth Naval Shipyards intent to sole source the following requirement:

The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNSY) requires calibrations services for Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment

Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source is capable of fulfilling this requirement. Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, Inc (Cage Code: 1WUK4) is the certified/accredited Commercial Calibration Activity (CCA) or Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).

Background
The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNSY) is seeking to establish a sole source contract for calibration services of Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE). The requirement is based on the determination that only one responsible source, Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, Inc., is capable of fulfilling this need due to their status as the certified/accredited Commercial Calibration Activity (CCA) and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).

This contract is critical for maintaining operational efficiency and compliance with Navy METCAL standards.

Work Details
The contractor will provide calibration and maintenance services for five (5) Leica TDRA 6000 Total Stations. These devices are essential for measuring angles and distances accurately, which is crucial during the overhaul of submarines. The work includes:
- Calibration and maintenance services for the specified Total Stations over a one-year period.
- Ensuring that the equipment meets the accuracy requirements set forth in technical work documents.
- Supporting critical jobs such as MRC-004 Layout, Portal crane inspection, and large area layout.
- Adhering to NAVSEA METCAL standards for calibration processes, which Hexagon has been providing since 2014.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a one-year period.
