Intent to Sole Source - Preventative Maintenance of JEOL Microscopes

The Cherry Point Satellite Contracting Office, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS), Cherry Point, NC, 28533, hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to Jeol USA Inc. (CAGE: 51043) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(i), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.

This procurement is to provide preventative maintenance for the Jeol Scanning Electron Microscopes for a period of one (1) base year and two (2) twelve month option periods at Fleet Readiness Center East (NAICS 811210 per the performance work statement). Market research has revealed this contractor is the only source capable of providing the required services for these items. Therefore, the government intends to procure these services on a sole source basis from Jeol USA Inc., the original equipment manufacturer of the microscopes.

THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within five (5) calendar days after the date of the publication of this synopsis, will be considered. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
