Intent to sole source on site shredding services WFO

Background
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Washington Field Office (WFO) intends to sole source to Iron Mountain for onsite confidential shredding services. This will be awarded under 13 and 12. The previous blanket purchase agreement with RMS Shredding has lapsed, and the FBI is planning to enter into a base plus four option year agreement with Iron Mountain. The WFO is the only FBI field office that can use this service due to Iron Mountain being the only vendor who owns the appropriate NSA shredding truck and happens to be located close to DC. The service is critical and has proven to be safe, secure, and cost-effective when compared to other alternatives.

Work Details
The onsite shredding services are estimated to cost $15,000 per year and are required to be performed approximately every six weeks at the FBI Washington Field Office locations. Iron Mountain is the only company that owns an NSA approved shredding truck, and they will be required to use the NSA approved Ultra Shred Brand G3-HM-48 High Security Screened Shredder Truck to destruct of C-Trash on an as-needed basis. This process will take place on-site at FBI locations and under the supervision of the FBI. The contract is for providing on-site shredding of C-Trash to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Washington Field Office (WFO)’s DC location and Northern Virginia Residence Agency (NVRA).

Place of Performance
The onsite shredding services will be performed at the FBI Washington Field Office locations in DC and Northern Virginia Residence Agency (NVRA).
