Background
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), specifically the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), is seeking to acquire ivermectin-treated molasses tubs from Positive Feed Ltd., a small business. This acquisition supports the Veterinary Services Cattle Tick Fever Eradication Program (CFTEP), which has been combating cattle fever tick infestations since 1906. These ticks pose a significant threat to American agriculture by spreading bovine babesiosis, leading to substantial economic losses in the cattle industry.

The CFTEP has received approval to distribute these specialized molasses tubs to assist in eradicating the Cattle Fever Tick, with only CFTEP and Texas Animal Health Commission (TAHC) employees authorized to use them.

Work Details
The contract involves the supply of 130-pound ivermectin-treated molasses tubs, which serve as supplemental protein, vitamin, and mineral sources for cattle. Each tub must meet the following specifications:
- Contains 30% crude protein, vitamin, and mineral supplementation
- Includes 200mg of Ivermectin per pound.

These tubs are intended for use on high-risk premises as determined by CFTEP epidemiologists and will be fed from February through July. Positive Feed Ltd. is currently the only company holding an FDA permit to manufacture this product, which is crucial for the CFTEP's efforts against cattle fever ticks.
