Intent to Sole Source - Degausser-Destructor Preventative Maintenance

Background
The 66th Air Base Group, Communications Squadron (66 ABG/SC) and the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) at Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts, intend to award a sole source contract to Data Security Inc. for the purchase and renewal of annual service support, maintenance, and warranty coverage for the existing Degausser/Destructor/Disintegrator.

Data Security Inc. is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of this equipment and is the only source authorized to provide these services due to proprietary rights over the technical data and trained personnel required for maintenance.

Work Details
The contract will encompass the following tasks: annual service support, maintenance, and warranty coverage for the Degausser/Destructor/Disintegrator. The OEM standards must be adhered to during all maintenance and warranty services.

Any unauthorized service or maintenance would void the equipment's warranty, posing unacceptable risks.

Period of Performance
The anticipated contract will include a base year followed by four option years.

Bidder Requirements
Only Data Security Inc., as the OEM, is authorized to provide support, maintenance, and warranty services for the Degausser/Destructor/Disintegrator. No other bidders are eligible due to proprietary rights and specialized training requirements.
