Description

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) will host a Proposers Day in support of Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) HR001123S0052, Intensity-Squeezed Photonic Integration for Revolutionary Detectors (INSPIRED) program on September 22, 2023 at the Executive Conference Center (4075 Wilson Boulevard, Suite 300, Arlington, VA 22203) from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET. Participants must register for the INSPIRED Proposers Day through the registration website by September 18, 2023 at 11:59 PM ET. The purpose of this meeting is to provide information on the INSPIRED program, promote additional discussion on this topic, address questions from potential proposers, and provide an opportunity for potential proposers to share their capabilities and ideas for teaming arrangements. The HR001123S0052 INSPIRED BAA is expected to be released prior to Proposers Day.
Background
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is hosting a Proposers Day in support of Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) HR001123S0052, Intensity-Squeezed Photonic Integration for Revolutionary Detectors (INSPIRED) program. The purpose of this meeting is to provide information on the INSPIRED program, promote additional discussion on this topic, address questions from potential proposers, and provide an opportunity for potential proposers to share their capabilities and ideas for teaming arrangements.

Work Details
The INSPIRED program aims to promote squeezed-light measurement systems as practical, general-purpose detector components. It seeks to develop integrated squeezed-light generators with a high squeezing ratio, interferometer photonic circuits with low aggregate loss to protect quantum states of light, and optoelectronic detector modules that integrate squeezed-light measurement techniques into form factors comparable to commercial photodetector modules and achieve sensitivity significantly beyond the shot-noise limit. The program goals include enabling decisive quantum advantages in applying squeezed-light detectors to optical systems across diverse application domains such as active imaging; atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO) physics; navigation; microscopy; and communications.
