Description

The Government requires brand name or equal Integrated digital inverted fluorescence microscope.

Background
The Genetic Engineering and Viral Vector Core (GEVVC) provides support to the National Institute on Drug Abuse Intramural Research Program (NIDA-IRP) by developing and producing genetic tools capable of modulating and monitoring molecules, cells, and circuits in the mammalian nervous system.

The mission of GEVVC is critical for producing viral vectors, developing technology for manipulating cells, and collaborating with NIDA researchers through experiments on cell-based model systems. The requirement for an integrated digital inverted fluorescence microscope is essential for monitoring cell health and validating new tools in their research efforts.

Work Details
The contract requires the procurement of one brand name or equal Leica Mateo imaging station to outfit the GEVVC tissue culture room. The minimum specifications for the integrated digital inverted fluorescence microscope include:
- Inverted microscope outfitted with 4x, 10x, and 20x objectives.
- Capable of brightfield and epifluorescent imaging.
- Compatible with 150mm dishes and SBS formatted well plates.
- Must take microphotographs using inverted objectives.
- Capture and process images without a separate PC.
- Provide estimates on cell density and transfection efficiency.
- Use brightfield illumination with phase contrast and fluorescent illumination with light cubes or filter sets for DAPI, GFP, mCherry, and iRFP wavelengths.
- Accept SBS-style tissue culture plates (96-well, 12-well, 6-well plates) as well as 150mm round culture dishes.
- Image cells with 4x, 10x, and 20x power magnification.
- Export images to USB storage device or networked storage device.
- Maximum dimensions: depth x width x height = 400 x 400 x 625 mm.

Place of Performance
The equipment will be delivered to the GEVVC tissue culture room located on the 7th floor.
