Insulated Shipping Containers RFQ

Background
The solicitation is for Insulated Shipping containers used to ship chilled samples to the Eastern, Midwestern, and Western FSIS laboratories. The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), an agency within the United States Department of Agriculture, administers a comprehensive system of inspection laws under the Federal Meat Inspection Act, the Poultry Products Inspection Act, and the Egg Products Inspection Act. The FSIS Office of Public Health Science (OPHS) provides analytical support to all inspection activities from three multi-disciplinary Field Service Laboratories (FSL's) which are in Athens, Georgia; St. Louis, Missouri; and Albany, California. The FSL's provide chemistry, microbiology, pathology, and other scientific testing of meat, poultry, and egg products.

Work Details
The contractor is required to provide insulated shipping containers in multiple sizes for all three FSL’s that consists of replaceable and recyclable components that will maintain frozen or refrigerated samples between 0-15ºC for a minimum of 72 hours. The containers must meet specific temperature control requirements for samples and incorporate replaceable component parts if needed to facilitate longevity of the container and support cost efficiency of the sampling program. Additionally, the containers must meet various technical requirements such as leak resistance, durability, reusability, self-sealing capability, tamper-proof sealed bottom, weight limitations for different container sizes, and compliance with shipping requirements.
