Instrumented Bump Duct for GRC Distorted Duct Flow Rig

Background
This is a sole source requirement for the Instrumented Bump Duct for the GRC Distorted Duct Flow Rig, issued by NASA Glenn Research Center. The mission of NASA GRC is to conduct research and development in aeronautics and space technology. The goal of this contract is to obtain precision manufacturing and instrumentation for a test section that will be used in their flow rig. The award is directed towards a specific company capable of meeting these specialized requirements.

Work Details
The deliverables under this contract include:

1) A 'bump' test section as shown in the attached sketch SK40004_RevA.pdf, conforming to all specified tolerances;

2) Three direct-measurement shear stress sensors with a diameter of 0.149 inches installed on the bump, whose faces conform to the curvature of the test section inner mold line;

3) Three direct-measurement shear stress sensors with a diameter of 0.149 inches containing a flange at a 0.250-inch offset from the measurement surface for easy removal;

4) Three contoured flanged blanks that may replace the flanged shear stress sensors in the delivered test section;

5) All necessary external electronics, cabling, and connectors to facilitate shear stress measurement with a voltage measurement device.

Period of Performance
Delivery is expected within 18 weeks after receipt of order (ARO).
