Description

We are seeking sources for the design, furnish, and install of all electrical components necessary to provide electricity and power to multiple high volume, low speed ceiling fans in Building 995 & 450.

The Government is only conducting market research and attaining information to identify contractors that are able to provide all items/services listed below. All information provided is STRICTLY VOLUNTARY.

Please review attached SOW for further project details.

Background
The project is initiated by Columbus Air Force Base (CAFB) to enhance the working conditions in Hangar B450, which is utilized for maintenance and repair of the T-6 Texan II aircraft. The mission of this aircraft is critical for training student pilots in Undergraduate Pilot Training (UPT).

The existing facility lacks adequate airflow, particularly during hot summer months, leading to inefficient working conditions. This project aims to install high volume, low speed ceiling fans to improve air circulation and overall quality of life for maintenance personnel.

Work Details
The contractor is required to design, furnish, and install all electrical components necessary for three high volume, low speed ceiling fans in Building 450. This includes:
1. Electrical Components: Installation of conductors, conduit, junction boxes, cable supports, independent power switches, emergency shutoff switches, and circuit breakers connected to existing electrical panels.
2. Emergency Air Distribution: Ensure the fans connect to the existing Emergency Air Distribution Shutoff Standard 18 of UFC 4-010-01.
3. Infrared Heaters: Disconnect and reconnect existing electrical supply lines to infrared heaters during relocation while ensuring code compliance and operational efficiency post-relocation.
4. Panel Schedule: Create a new panel schedule for modified panel boards due to construction actions.
5. Fire Protection: Interlock HVLS fans with the fire alarm system so they de-energize during an alarm condition; ensure installation does not interfere with existing fire suppression systems.
6. Fire Caulking: Install fire caulking at all new penetrations through fire barriers created by construction actions.
7. Mechanical Installation: Install three HVLS fans with a diameter of 24 feet controlled via independent wall switches, ensuring proper assembly and testing for smooth operation.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence on or around March 7, 2025.
