Install ACU unit in several buildings   2

Background
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking to replace aging Air Handling Units (AHUs) 12, 13, and 14 located in Building 226 on their Gaithersburg site.

This facility is a significant research campus that supports various scientific endeavors. The existing AHUs are original to the building, dating back to 1965, and have been experiencing chronic issues including water leaks and inefficiencies that jeopardize safety and disrupt research activities.

The goal of this contract is to ensure the safety of staff and equipment by replacing these outdated systems with new, energy-efficient units.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. Replace AHUs 12, 13, and 14, including duct cleaning.
2. Provide a Design-Build solution for new energy-efficient attic lighting.
3. Manage all hazardous materials (HAZMAT) related to the project.

The contract includes a single line item for construction services related to the replacement of these AHUs with a total quantity of one lump sum (LS).

Period of Performance
