Description

As a part of the U.S. Public Health Service under the Department of Health and Human Services, the National Institutes of
Health (NIH) is the Federal Government's primary biomedical research agency. The NIH's mission is to seek fundamental
knowledge about the nature and behavior of living systems and the application of that knowledge to enhance health, lengthen
life, and reduce the burdens of illness and disability. Composed of 27 Institutes and Centers, the NIH provides leadership
and financial support to researchers in every state and throughout the world.

The NIH Office of Research Facilities (ORF) supports the NIH mission by providing, maintaining, and operating safe, healthy,
and attractive facilities. Within ORF, the Division of Design and Construction Management (DDCM) is responsible for the oversight of the design, construction, demolition, modification, renovation and repair of all NIH facilities and infrastructure. In turn, DDCM's Design and Technical Services Branch (DTSB) provides the necessary inspection and quality assurance support services to manage the construction.

Work Details
The work under this award requires the Contractor to provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, other items and non-personal services necessary to perform inspection and quality assurance support services for NIH Facilities and Infrastructure projects in Washington, DC – Baltimore metropolitan area. The services include Quality Assurance Program (QAP), assistance performing QA inspections and associated support services such as Testing, Adjusting and Balancing (TAB), electrical metering services, circuit tracing, safety monitoring, earned value support, stored items inspections, record documents support, punchlist inspections, shutdown support,
as-builts support,
schedule support,
commissioning support including attending commissioning meetings and reviewing construction documentation.

Period of Performance
The period of performance shall be for one (1) Base year of 12 months plus four (4) option years.

Place of Performance
The Place of Performance is located primarily on the NIH Main Campus in Bethesda, MD with potential work at other NIH sites including Rockville,
Gaithersburg,
Poolesville,
Frederick
Baltimore in Maryland; Rocky Mountain Laboratories in Hamilton MT; North Carolina (Research Triangle Park).
