Injection Molding and 1553 Connector Inserts

Background
The 309 SWEG’s Software Control Center (SCC) maintains the Portable Automated Test Set (PATS) -70A Tester at Hill Air Force Base. There is a requirement to replace obsolete damaged connectors inside the PATS. The 1553 card connector from the harness is obsolete and no longer available for purchase. The 1553 connector insert is a high failure item, and the design needs to be updated for increased durability.

Work Details
The contract requires a contractor to build the plastic injection mold and produce 1553 connector inserts to support the PATS testers. A technical data package with drawings and models for each item has been developed and contains the individual specifications for each component.
The objective is to build each of these items per the supplied drawings as directed in Section 4. The contract also specifies that a First Article unit with final production units upon completion of first article approval will be awarded. Final production units will begin upon Government acceptance of the First Article unit following testing.
