Orginal Posting: You are cordially invited to attend an industry convening event on Wednesday May 1, 2024, at 2:00-2:45 PM EST pertaining to the recently published White Paper on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as identified in the Make PPE in America Act.
Our intent in publishing the White Paper was to provide PPE demand information across the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and to demonstrate the commitment of the Federal government to advancing Made in America objectives by implementing acquisition programs to support long-term sustainability of the domestic PPE manufacturing industry. The purpose of this industry convening session is to obtain your feedback from the information provided in the White Paper. At the event, you will hear from members of the Executive Office of the President and the agencies about the information provided in the White Paper. We also want to hear suggestions regarding future industry convenings, to include topics of interest and other suggestions or recommendations we can take to further efforts to catalyze domestic manufacturing and jobs to support a more resilient PPE supply chain. Your feedback will be used to help shape the Federal government's approach to buying PPE as an organized entity. Please note we will not be discussing any specific procurement matters. The event is closed to the press.

Background
The industry convening event is related to the recently published White Paper on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as identified in the Make PPE in America Act. The White Paper aims to provide PPE demand information across the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and to demonstrate the commitment of the Federal government to advancing Made in America objectives by implementing acquisition programs to support long-term sustainability of the domestic PPE manufacturing industry.

Work Details
The purpose of the industry convening session is to obtain feedback from participants based on the information provided in the White Paper. The event will include presentations from members of the Executive Office of the President and the agencies about the information provided in the White Paper.
Suggestions regarding future industry convenings, topics of interest, and recommendations to further efforts to catalyze domestic manufacturing and jobs to support a more resilient PPE supply chain are also welcomed. The feedback will be used to help shape the Federal government’s approach to buying PPE as an organized entity. It's important to note that specific procurement matters will not be discussed during this event.

Period of Performance
The industry convening event is scheduled for Wednesday, May 1, 2024, from 2:00-2:45 PM EST. Questions specific to this session should be sent no later than April 29, 2024. Following the convening, questions can be submitted no later than May 3, 2024, with an interagency coordinated response prepared and posted on SAM.gov no later than May 24, 2024.
