Industry Day for Direct Support Fires Technology (DSFT) Science & Technology (S&T) Project

Background
The Department of the Army, specifically the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Aviation & Missile Center (DEVCOM AvMC), is hosting an Industry Day to provide an in-depth overview of its anticipated Direct Support Fires Technology (DSFT) Science & Technology Demonstration Project.

This project supports the Army's Transformation in Contact (TiC), which aims to integrate new technologies and adapt organizational structures to enhance readiness and lethality in today's evolving battlefield environment. The Army is currently conducting experimentation with Field Artillery rocket and missile launchers at the Division level, leading to a need for low-cost, mass-produced rockets compatible with the MLRS Family of Munitions (MFOM). These rockets are intended to deliver highly responsive, massed reinforcing fires to Field Artillery formations.

Work Details
The Industry Day will focus on several key objectives:

- Communicating technical objectives and the development roadmap for the DSFT project;
- Sharing the Army's agile hardware prototyping and demonstration approach;
- Outlining opportunities for meaningful industry collaboration;
- Inviting feedback to help shape the acquisition strategy and accelerate transition pathways.

The project aims to develop and demonstrate low-cost rocket technology and a reloadable MFOM-compatible pod, following an agile hardware development approach that includes regular demonstration events and updates to reference design technical data packages. Industry collaboration is essential for establishing an ecosystem where partners can demonstrate DSFT technologies and leverage DEVCOM AvMC's expertise.
