Description

Contract W81XWH-22-C-0018 is a Firm-Fixed Price - Level of Effort contract for Individualized Focused Ultrasound Stimulation for Sleep On-Demand in order to develop an individually tailored ultrasonic deep brain stimulation device to enhance slow wave sleep (SWS) that integrates individually derived offline MRI guidance, acoustic simulation-derived beam steering, and slow wave analytics. Specifically, the device will monitor sleep stage and slow wave phase using real-time electroencephalography (EEG) acquisition for delivery of either slow wave inducing or enhancing ultrasound protocols targeted to thalamic nuclei critical to SWS.
