Improve Hamat Air Base Runway and Ancillary Infrastructure

Background
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Transatlantic Middle East District (TAM) is issuing a contract for the improvement of the Hamat Air Base in Hamat, Republic of Lebanon. This project is in response to a requirement from the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) and is funded through Foreign Military Financing (FMF).

The goal of the contract is to enhance the operational capabilities of the air base while adhering to applicable building codes and safety standards.

Work Details
The scope of work includes demolition, leveling improvements of the runway, airfield pavement enhancements, utility upgrades, removal and reinstallation of existing airfield lights, procurement and installation of new airfield lights, construction of new communications ductbanks, construction of new storm water piping, and related site grading and improvements.

The project will be executed under a design-bid-build (D-B-B) approach. The main runway will be inactive during construction; however, adjacent rotary wing aprons will remain operational. All work must comply with current building codes and safety standards applicable in Lebanon and the U.S.

Period of Performance
The overall period of performance for this contract shall be six hundred forty (640) calendar days from Notice to Proceed (NTP).
