ICCS Cab Hatch Seal Trac Machining Seal

Background
The Norfolk Naval Shipyard is issuing this contract for the machining of the Forward ICCS Cab Hatch seal track on a Carrier Vessel. The goal of this contract is to ensure that the hatch seal track meets specific dimensional tolerances and surface finish requirements, which are critical for the operational integrity of the vessel.

Work Details
The contractor is required to provide all materials and equipment necessary for machining the Forward ICCS Cab Hatch seal track, which includes:

1) Machining the 2.63-inch horizontal surface and the upper part of the 0.25-inch INBD radius;

2) Maintaining existing installed horizontal flatness (+/- 0.04” over 36 inches) over a total length of approximately 26 feet;

3) Machining HSLA-100 track to a maximum depth of 0.063” +/- 1/32” on the horizontal surface with a width of 2.63” and a surface finish of 250 rms;

4) Breaking all edges to eliminate sharp corners;

5) Cleaning all machining debris from the ICCS Cab Hatch Seal Track upon completion; and

6) Adhering to safety requirements as outlined in Federal OSHA regulations and NNSY safety manuals.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed from August 17, 2026, to January 2, 2027.

The work will be conducted at either Naval Station Norfolk, located at 1530 Gilbert St #2000 Norfolk VA 23511, or at Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth VA, zip code 23709.
