HVAA Installation Services

Background
The United States Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) at Tinker Air Force Base is conducting market research to identify potential sources capable of providing installation services for a High Value Airborne Asset (HVAA) modification for the C/KC-135 Aircraft.

This initiative aims to enhance the capabilities of the KC-135 fleet by installing specific wiring and structural components necessary for modular wing pods. The goal is to assess the expertise and capabilities of contractors in meeting these requirements, although no contract will be awarded based on this market research.

Work Details
The work involves the installation of wiring and structural components for the HVAA modification on two C/KC-135 aircraft. The tasks include:
- Performing installations on two aircraft at separate times:
- First installation is expected to take approximately 60 days.
- Second installation is anticipated to take between 45 to 60 days, which includes:
- Installation of a structural kit on the second aircraft.
- Installation of wiring kits on both aircraft.
- Running wiring and fiber optics within the length of the wing structure of the aircraft.
- Terminating electrical wire, fiber optic, and ethernet cables.
- Providing ground equipment necessary to support heavy modifications of the wing structure.

Period of Performance
The period of performance includes two separate installation phases: approximately 60 days for the first installation and 45 to 60 days for the second installation.

Place of Performance
The installations will occur at Tinker Air Force Base or other designated locations as specified by the United States Air Force.
