Description

** THIS IS A SOLE SOURCE REQUIREMENT ** for HR-2 additive manufacturing powder

Background
This contract is a sole source requirement for the procurement of HR-2 additive manufacturing powder, specifically designed for NASA's needs. The goal of this contract is to acquire a specialized alloy powder that meets specific formulation and performance criteria essential for NASA's additive manufacturing processes.

Work Details
The HR-2-AM powder (formulation II) must adhere to the following specifications:

1. Composition as per Table 1:
- Nickel: BAL
- Iron: 30.00% (Min: 29.30%, Max: 30.70%)
- Chromium: 15.50% (Min: 14.90%, Max: 16.10%)
- Cobalt: 4.00% (Min: 3.80%, Max: 4.20%)
- Molybdenum: 3.00% (Min: 2.80%, Max: 3.20%)
- Tungsten: 3.20% (Min: 3.00%, Max: 3.40%)
- Titanium: 2.80% (Min: 2.60%, Max: 3.00%)
- Aluminum: 0.25% (Min: 0.20%, Max: 0.30%)
- Sulfur, Phosphorus, Carbon, Silicon, Boron, Manganese, Hydrogen, Oxygen, Nitrogen must meet specified limits.

2. Particle Size Distribution (PSD) requirements as per Table 2:
- HR-2-AM must be +325 mesh/1250 mesh (45 um/+10 um)
- Particles greater than +325 mesh shall be limited to ≤ 1.0 weight % per ASTM B214.
- Particles smaller than 10 um shall be limited to ≤ 2.0 cumulative volume % per ASTM B822.

3. The powder must be primarily spherical in shape, free of significant satellite particles, and have smooth surfaces.

4. The vendor is required to deliver a total of 500 lbs of NASA HR-2-AM within the specified timeframe.

Period of Performance
The vendor shall deliver the product within 12 weeks of procurement award.

Place of Performance
The product will be delivered to NASA facilities as specified in the procurement documentation.
