Houston Ship Channel – House Tract Placement Area Improvement

Background
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District is seeking information from industry regarding the Houston Ship Channel – House Tract Placement Area Improvement project. This sources sought synopsis aims to gather knowledge of interest, capabilities, and qualifications from various members of the industry, including small businesses and other designated categories such as HUB-Zone and SDVOSB.

The goal is to ensure adequate competition among responsible firms for potential future contracting opportunities.

Work Details
The scope of this contract involves performing improvements on placement areas within the Houston Ship Channel - House Tract. Specifically, Schedule 1 includes a 3-foot dike raise on the northern half of the placement area and rehabilitation of the existing drop outlet structure.

It is currently undetermined whether the fill material will be sourced from an off-site location or in situ from within the site. Option 1, if exercised, will involve a 3-foot dike raise on the southern half of the perimeter and dewatering of the interior.

All construction work must comply with USACE Safety and Health Requirements Manual (EM 385-1-1) and adhere to all relevant federal, state, and local laws.

Period of Performance
The work under Schedule 1 must be completed and ready for use no later than 240 calendar days after the contractor receives the Notice to Proceed. If Option 1 is exercised, it must be completed within 150 calendar days.
