Requirement Information: Household Goods HHG Movement & Storage, This industry comprises establishments primarily engaged in providing local or long-distance trucking of used household, used institutional, or used commercial furniture and equipment. Incidental packing and storage activities are often provided by these establishments.

This Sources Sought Synopsis (SSS) is in support of market research being conducted by the United States Marine Corps (USMC). This market research is being conducted to increase competition for this requirement by identifying potential sources and to gauge small business interest to determine whether or not this requirement can be satisfied with a Small Business Set-Aside.

The Government will use the information gathered through publication of this SSS to determine the best acquisition strategy for this requirement. The Government is interested in all potential sources including Small Businesses, Small Disadvantaged Businesses, 8(a) businesses, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, HUBZone Small Businesses, Women-Owned Small Businesses, etc.

Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Miramar has a requirement to contract with an exclusive service provider to support the Unit Deployment Program (UDP) in the form of storing personal property of Marines for the entire duration of unit deployment. These services will include the packaging of property in cardboard cartons, inventory, consolidation in crates, transportation to vendor warehouse, damage claims process, and delivery of personal property, back to service members at the end of their deployment.

The services specified in this SSS does not have any associated technical data available for distribution. Potential sources for this effort shall be companies who have current licensing of household goods carriers from the California Public Utilities, under Authorization No. CAL-T 81905, to complete the work described in this SSS. Companies interested in performing the work specified, and have met the requirements stated above, should submit a capabilities statement (i.e. license or agreement information) to the Primary Point of Contact who is also the Contract Specialist.
