Background
The Department of State is seeking to acquire hotel accommodations for a Senior High Level USG VIP visit, which includes a delegation with support elements in security, communications, logistics, and operations. The estimated cost for this acquisition is Euro 300,000.00 or US equivalent $313,152.40. Due to security concerns and the urgency of the requirement, the Department recommends using other than full and open competition for this contract.

Work Details
The contractor will provide hotel accommodations for approximately 850 room nights for the Senior High Level USG Principal and accompanying delegation. The selected contractor is Società Internazionale Nuovi Alberghi per Azioni S.I.N.A., located in Florence, Italy. The justification for not conducting full and open competition is based on security concerns that limit advanced notification of travel plans, making it impossible to conduct a timely competitive process. The Department of State must ensure a safe environment for VIP visitors, which often requires using predetermined hotels that meet specific security and logistical requirements.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed in conjunction with the timing of the Senior High Level USG VIP visit, which is subject to last-minute changes and confirmations.

Place of Performance
Hotel accommodations will be provided in Italy, specifically at Hotel Sina Bernini Bristol in Florence.
