Background
The justification pertains to the acquisition of Hologic Panther systems for the 59th Medical Wing (MDW) at Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center. The agency's mission is to ensure efficient medical readiness and patient care for military personnel, particularly during Basic Military Training (BMT).

The goal of this contract is to procure necessary analyzers, consumables, reagents, and assays that meet specific requirements essential for laboratory operations.

Work Details
The contract involves the procurement of two Hologic Panther Plus Analyzer systems. These systems must meet the following specifications:
1. Throughput Requirement: Capable of processing up to 500 tests in an 8-hour period to meet mission demands.
2. Physical Footprint: Must fit within a maximum space of 57" (W) x 39" (D) x 69" (H).
3. Required Test Menu: Must perform a full panel of tests including Chlamydia trachomatis (CT), Neisseria gonorrhoeae (GC), Bacterial Vaginosis (BV), and Candida species.
4. Proprietary Reagents: Only Hologic provides the necessary reagents and consumables required for operation, making them the sole source for this equipment.

Period of Performance
The performance period spans from February 2026 through February 2029.

Place of Performance
The products will be delivered and operated at the Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center in San Antonio, Texas.
