Background
The contract is issued by Holloman Air Force Base (AFB) for Mortuary Affairs services. The mission of the agency is to provide dignified and respectful mortuary services in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) standards. The goal of this contract is to ensure that all mortuary affairs services are performed in compliance with applicable regulations and standards, providing necessary support during times of loss.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide mortuary affairs services in accordance with the attached Performance Work Statement (PWS). Key tasks include:
1. Transportation Cost: Provide transportation for remains as required.
2. Preparation of Autopsied Remains: Ensure proper handling and preparation of remains that have undergone autopsy procedures.
3. Body Preparation: Perform necessary preparations for the deceased, including embalming and restorative arts as required by state law and DoD standards.
4. Cremation: Carry out cremation services as per the guidelines established in the PWS. All services must be performed by licensed personnel, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period of five calendar years from the date of award receipt.
