Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs is issuing this solicitation for janitorial and custodial services at the Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital located in Hines, Illinois. The goal of this contract is to ensure a clean healthcare environment that supports outstanding patient care. This solicitation follows the cancellation of a previous solicitation due to changes in scope.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all labor, management, and supervision necessary to perform janitorial/custodial services at the Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital. Services must adhere to the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and include:

1. Aseptic cleaning techniques to prevent contamination;
2. Cleaning services performed on an 'as needed' basis;
3. Immediate response to urgent cleaning needs;
4. Linen distribution and gathering of soiled linens;
5. Bedmaking as required;
6. Daily maintenance of non-carpeted floors including sweeping, dust-mopping, and wet-mopping;
7. Removal of trash and recycling;
8. Cleaning mirrors and windows;
9. Vacuuming carpets and floor mats;
10. Cleaning and disinfecting high-touch points in common areas;
11. Compliance with safety regulations including proper storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment;
12. Development of a Quality Control Program to ensure service quality.

Period of Performance
The contract period begins on February 1, 2025, and ends on January 31, 2026, with options for renewal for additional years.
