Statement of Work for High Temperature Furnace
This work is to purchase Amteco 2700F furnace and controller. This investment supports the Aeronautics Missions at GRC by providing test equipment to support research and development of ceramic and metallic materials. This furnace system is for testing materials for evaluation for various aerospace applications for the materials division. It will provide capability for higher operating temperatures This furnace meets the ASTM standard requirements for thermal profile at test temperatures up to 2700F. The alternate brands of furnaces that have been used by our branch in the past do not meet the requirements. NASA recently performed fatigue testing for an industry partner but only our Amteco furnace could meet the temperature requirements. NASA request all of our furnaces the same so they can compare data. Therefore, NASA seek to buy one furnace from Amteco to match. The furnace also offer ease of use compared to other brands and they have optional windows that can be added later for imaging samples at high temperature. .

Background
NASA/National Aeronautics and Space Administration, through its NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC) and the Glenn Research Center (GRC) materials division, requires a high-temperature furnace system to support research and development of ceramic and metallic materials for various aerospace applications.

The procurement is conducted as a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items, identified by RFQ 80NSSC23830927Q, in support of the Aeronautics Missions at GRC.

This announcement constitutes the only solicitation and is issued as a Request for Quotations (RFQ).

Work Details
Purchase of one (1) Amteco brand name furnace system consisting of:

1. Hot Rail Furnace HRFS-350-1500-2Z rated to 2700 °F with Type R thermocouple and 2.5\" or 3.0\" mount.
2. Two-Zone Furnace Controller Unit for 2700 °F with communications and Eurotherm EPC 3016 controller, including:
- analog retransmission
- latching interlock (power cut-off on remote I/O signal, manual reset required)
- 0-10 VDC retransmitted PV temperature output for data recording

Optional later-addable viewing window capability is specified.

System meets ASTM thermal profile requirements to 2700 °F and matches existing Amteco furnaces for data comparability.

Period of Performance
Quotes are due by March 24, 2023, 1:00 p.m. CT.

Delivery shall be FOB Destination; final delivery schedule to NASA GRC is to be specified by the contractor upon award.

Place of Performance
NASA Glenn Research Center, 21000 Brookpark Road, Cleveland, OH 44135 (FOB Destination).

Bidder Requirements
This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside.

Offerors must be an authorized reseller of Amteco, Inc. and supply the brand name item.

Offerors must state the country of origin if offering a non‐domestic end product.

Completion of interlock, retransmission, and other specified technical features is required.
