Background
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Aerospace Projects Office (APO) is sponsoring an Industry Day to provide information to potential proposers on the objectives of the High Mach Gas Turbine (HMGT) Technologies program. This initiative is part of DARPA's Next Generation Responsive Strike (NextRS) Initiative, which aims to advance reusable hypersonic aircraft technologies by addressing identified shortfalls in various technological areas.

The goal of the HMGT program is to jumpstart the design, development, and testing of advanced gas turbine engines capable of operating at higher Mach numbers, which are essential for future hypersonic aircraft.

Work Details
The Industry Day will include government presentations on the HMGT Technologies program and related efforts, starting at 8:30 a.m. and concluding by 11:00 a.m., with a question and answer session for attendees.

Phase 1 of the HMGT program will focus on conducting conceptual and preliminary design efforts along with subsystem/component testing. This includes identifying the HMGT engine architecture, engine core, required subsystem technologies, and developing a technology roadmap for maturing each subsystem component technology and overall engine design.

Future efforts in Phase 1 are expected to involve preliminary design and database development that aligns with aircraft conceptual design needs, as well as building and testing advanced components. Subsequent phases may be conducted by the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) or Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC/LP), leading to a prototype HMGT engine and full-scale testing.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed in multiple phases, beginning with Phase 1 during which conceptual and preliminary designs will be developed.
