Description

This requirement is for a vendor to provide a high-energy electrohydraulic medical service, consumables and technician for Podiatry procedures.

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking a vendor to provide high-energy electro-hydraulic medical services, consumables, and a technician for podiatry procedures at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center in Augusta, GA. This contract aims to offer an alternative treatment method for Veterans suffering from chronic pain associated with various tendinopathies. The contract includes a base year and four option years, totaling five years.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide a high-energy electro-hydraulic medical device and all necessary consumables for performing tendinopathy procedures, including but not limited to: Plantar Fasciitis, Achilles Tendonitis, Lateral Epicondylitis, Patellar Tendonitis, Tricep Tendonitis, Metatarsalgia, and Fracture Nonunion.

The contractor must ensure that all equipment is sterilized and in working condition. A trained technician will be responsible for transporting, setting up, and operating the equipment during procedures. The technician must ensure compliance with VA infection control requirements and maintain proper operation throughout each procedure. The contractor is also required to provide product liability insurance coverage and ensure that all technicians are trained in HIPAA regulations.

Period of Performance
The period of performance includes a base year from August 19, 2026, to August 18, 2027, with four additional option years extending through August 18, 2031.

Place of Performance
Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center, 950 15th Street, Augusta GA 30901.

Incumbent Analysis (see Incumbents section for more detail)
The prior award 36C24721C0188 was held by Premier Shockwave (value $1,731,308) for high-energy electro-hydraulic extracorporeal shockwave device services (OSSATRON) at the VA, covering 08/19/21–08/18/25. The current requirement similarly calls for high-energy electrohydraulic shockwave podiatry services, including the device, consumables, and a trained technician to perform tendinopathy-related procedures and maintain sterilization/infection control. This appears to be a continuation of the same type of shockwave therapy support for podiatry/tendinopathy treatment at the same VA medical center.
