Background
The Rapid River District Office is part of the Hiawatha National Forest, which aims to manage and protect forest resources while providing recreational opportunities.

This contract focuses on re-roofing the Rapid River Office to ensure its structural integrity and weather resistance, aligning with the agency's mission to maintain its facilities effectively.

Work Details
The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of existing roof coverings at the Rapid River District Office.

Specific tasks include:
- Removal of roof shingles, underlayment, drip edge, and three vent pipe boots;
- Installation of Ice & Water Shield in valleys and two rows at roof eaves;
- Application of synthetic underlayment on the remaining roof area;
- Installation of new shingle vent at ridges;
- Addition of new metal drip edge at eaves;
- Installation of new vent pipe boot flashing;
- Application of new CertainTeed Landmark shingles in Heather Blend color.

Existing roof step flashings will be reused. The contractor is responsible for all supervision, labor, equipment, materials, and miscellaneous supplies necessary for a complete weather-tight project. Additionally, all dump fees for debris disposal must be included.

Period of Performance
The contractor must commence work within 10 calendar days after receiving the notice to proceed and is required to complete all work within 60 days from that date.
