Hiawatha NF Raco 10 Bay Garage Reroof

Background
The USDA, Forest Service has a requirement to replace the garage roof on the Hiawatha National Forest located in Brimley, MI. The project is aimed at ensuring the structural integrity and weather resistance of the Raco Ten Bay Building, which serves as a work center for the Forest Service.

This solicitation is set aside for small business concerns, with the goal of engaging local contractors to fulfill this essential maintenance task.

Work Details
The project involves the removal and replacement of existing roof coverings at the Raco Work Center, Ten Bay Building. Specific tasks include:
- Removal of old roof shingles and underlayment.
- Installation of Ice & Water Shield along two rows at the roof eaves.
- Application of synthetic underlayment on the remaining roof area.
- Installation of new white metal drip edge at eaves.
- Use of CertainTeed Landmark dimensional roof shingles in Moire Black color or an approved equal.
- Inclusion of all dump fees for debris disposal.
- Provision of all necessary supervision, labor, equipment, materials, and miscellaneous supplies (staples, nails, roof cement, starter shingles, cap shingles) to ensure a complete weather-tight project.

Period of Performance
The contract performance period is from June 1, 2026, to October 31, 2026. The contractor is required to begin work within 10 calendar days after receiving the award and must complete it within 150 calendar days.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at the Raco Work Center located at 9200 South Ranger Rd, Brimley, MI 49715.
