Hiawatha National Forest Campground Concession

Background
This prospectus is being issued to solicit applications for a concession campground special use permit. The prospectus offers six campgrounds, three day-use areas, and one recreation site. A permit to provide high-quality public service in the operation and maintenance of Government-owned recreation facilities located on the Sault Ste. Marie and St. Ignace Ranger Districts, Hiawatha National Forest, will be issued. The following recreation facilities will be included: Bay View Campground, Brevoort Lake Campground and Day Use Area, Carp River Campground, Lake Michigan Campground and Day Use Area, Monocle Lake Campground, Soldier Lake Campground and Day Use Area.

Work Details
The services and recreation opportunities must be consistent with ROS objectives. Vegetation management plan must be adhered to. Unacceptable soil compaction, erosion, vegetation loss, etc., must be prevented or corrected.
Safety inspections must be completed & documented. High-risk conditions must be corrected prior to use.
Employees must be placed where required. 36 CFR 261.14 infractions must be reported promptly.
Facilities must meet Forest Service Outdoor Recreation Accessibility Guidelines (FSORAG). Bulletin boards must contain required info and are neat, visible, and easy to read.
Employees receive appropriate 'Good Host' and customer-service training. All facilities must be functional and in good repair.
SST toilet standards are met. Facilities maintained in condition received.
Vandalism corrected promptly.
