ID: RFQ1721357 • Alt ID: R_Gje0iAxh5JaqIMW • Type: Sources Sought

Description

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), in collaboration with the General Services Administration (GSA), is conducting market research to identify potential contractors for a preventative maintenance agreement. The focus of this contract is on the upkeep and servicing of a specific trash compactor unit located onsite. This initiative aligns with HHS's commitment to maintaining operational efficiency and safety standards within its facilities.

The scope of work requires the contractor to perform preventative maintenance and full inspections on the designated trash compactor every six months. Additionally, the contractor must provide on-call services for troubleshooting and repair when issues arise. The inspection process includes a comprehensive evaluation of various components such as welding on chutes, anchor bolts, container guides, structural integrity, leaks, debris management, lubrication needs, hydraulic systems, electrical components, and overall safety compliance.

Proper lubrication of fittings, ratchets, hinges, couplings, pivot points, turnbuckles, tubes, motor grease points and hydraulic hoses is essential to ensure optimal performance. The contractor will also be responsible for checking the operation of unit controls including reverse/forward functions, pressure gauges, timers and ensuring all safety decals are in place without any code violations or unsafe conditions present.

Furthermore, the contractor must handle any spills responsibly and provide all necessary materials such as tools and fuel required for servicing tasks. Effective communication with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) is crucial for reporting findings and obtaining approvals for repairs or replacements. Work is expected to be performed during normal operating hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday.
