HHS - FY26 NIH Scientific Technical Support for Cancer Surveillance Cancer Contr

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), through the General Services Administration (GSA), is conducting market research to support the National Cancer Institute's (NCI) Surveillance Research Program (SRP). The primary goal of this initiative is to enhance the quality and dissemination of cancer statistics, which play a crucial role in understanding and controlling cancer incidence. By recruiting highly qualified personnel and leveraging a wide range of expertise, the SRP aims to maintain its high standards in data management and statistical analysis related to cancer surveillance.

The work requested involves comprehensive scientific and technical support for cancer surveillance activities. Specifically, the contractor will be responsible for quality control and improvement activities related to population-based cancer data. This includes conducting quality control studies, defining study cohorts, refining cancer case selections, performing reliability analysis, generating Data Quality Profiles, correcting and augmenting data, linking datasets, usability testing, annotation tasks, and maintaining data systems. These tasks are essential for ensuring that the SRP can continue to provide accurate and reliable cancer statistics.

In addition to quality control efforts, the contractor will support geospatial analysis activities that focus on understanding the geographic distribution of cancer cases. This involves statistical modeling of population-based data to uncover patterns or trends that may inform public health strategies and interventions. The contractor's work will complement ongoing efforts within NCI's Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences by providing novel methodological solutions for effective cancer surveillance.
