Heavy Metals Surface Sampling – Temporary Corrosion Control Structure

Background
The Department of the Air Force, specifically the Headquarters 36th Wing (PACAF) at Andersen Air Force Base in Guam, is issuing this solicitation to support the 36 MXG. The goal of this contract is to provide services for collecting and analyzing samples for heavy metals in the Temporary Corrosion Control Structure (TCCS). This initiative is part of the agency's mission to ensure environmental safety and compliance with regulations regarding hazardous materials.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for conducting surface sampling to test for heavy metals regulated under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), specifically RCRA-8 Metals: Arsenic, Barium, Cadmium, Chromium, Lead, Mercury, Selenium, and Silver. Additionally, testing for Hexavalent Chromium will be required due to its toxic and carcinogenic properties commonly found in corrosion-inhibiting primers used on military aircraft and vehicle components. All laboratory analyses must be performed by a laboratory accredited by the American Industrial Hygiene Association Laboratory Accreditation Programs (AIHA-LAP, LLC) or an equivalent recognized national accrediting body for environmental lead and industrial hygiene chemistry.
