Description

NSN: 2540-01-396-2826. Part Number: 5000-30178/ 12474864. Base Quantity: 1,890 EA. Option: 200%

The Heater, Vehicular Compartment in question is a compartment heater for the M113 FOV ,Bradley , Abrams, M88, AMPV, JAB, Paladin, FAASV, ABV, AVLB, and Panther. Its geometric and thermal output are too highly specific to justify the necessary actions to have GVSC reverse engineer, given the time span to justify the cost of procuring a new heater. The heater is highly customized for the usage of the applied military vehicles.
Currently, the heater is under two different technical classifications. Specifically, a source control drawing that the Government (GVSC), CAGE 19207, own and the second being a specification that the Government also owns. The specification in question, MIL-PRF-62550, details the specific requirements as to what the heater must meet and the design requirement thresholds. However, the Government does not have complete build-to-print TDPs

The product's special geometry, rare materials, and internal layout of the heater do not make it a viable competitive package at this time.

The Government does not have the pertinent technical data to enable competitive procurement.

The Government does not own the necessary intellectual property data rights to the pertinent technical data and computer software to enable competitive procurement.
