Health Insurance for Locally Employed Staff, U.S. Embassy Praia, Cabo Verde   3

Background
The U.S. Embassy in Praia, Cabo Verde, is seeking a contractor to provide health insurance services for its locally employed staff and their eligible family members. The goal of this contract is to ensure comprehensive health coverage that meets the needs of the embassy personnel while adhering to the standards set forth by the U.S. Government.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide health insurance services that include mandatory benefits such as:

1. Hospitalization: Coverage for inpatient care including services from licensed healthcare providers, bed & board, operating room, recovery room, intensive care, imaging and diagnostic testing, and general hospital nursing care with 100% coverage.

2. Emergency Services: 100% coverage for conditions requiring immediate treatment.

3. Ambulance Services: Minimum 80% coverage for professional ground transport.

4. Outpatient Services: Minimum 80% coverage for services provided on an ambulatory basis including annual physicals and specialist consultations.

5. Obstetric and Newborn Care: Inpatient care at 100% coverage and outpatient care at minimum 80% coverage.

6. Pediatric Services: Inpatient care at 100% and outpatient care at minimum 80% coverage.

7. Prescription Drugs: Inpatient at 100% and outpatient at minimum 80% coverage.

8. Preventive and Wellness Care: Minimum 80% coverage for preventive services.

9. Hearing Aids and Optical Services: Minimum 80% coverage with specific caps on costs per individual.

10. The contractor must also maintain a Quality Assurance Plan to monitor performance metrics monthly and ensure compliance with service standards.
