Hanscom AFB Bldg 1630 Phase 1 Construction

Background
Hanscom Air Force Base (AFB), located in Bedford, Massachusetts, approximately 20 miles Northwest of Boston, is seeking contractors for the demolition and removal of existing cubicles and furniture within Building 1630.

The Aerospace Management Division, HBA, and AFLCMC/PZI are transforming their office space to support a workforce of approximately 240 employees. This initiative includes the decommissioning and disposal of all HBA furniture and equipment from designated areas on the first and second floors of Building 1630.

Work Details
The Contractor shall provide services, personnel, and materials for the complete breakdown, demolition, and removal of all cubicles in the designated area. This includes: removing and disposing of all existing systems furniture (cubicles, cabinets, desks, ancillary furniture), systems furniture electrical cabling, and all other refuse incidental to the existing office furniture from designated areas.

The Contractor must adhere to local government laws/policies for proper disposal. The Government will de-energize all electrical connections; however, the Contractor is responsible for disconnecting electrical whips without cutting telephone or data lines—these should be removed from systems furniture and temporarily stored above the dropped ceiling. Demolition tasks are required on the 2nd floor of Building 1630. The Contractor is also responsible for repairing or returning any modified items to their original operating form upon completion of decommissioning tasks. Coordination with the Point of Contact (POC) and Building 1630 Facility Manager is required in advance to arrange necessary escorts. Additionally, a walkthrough with Hanscom AFB POCs must be scheduled post-completion to ensure cleanliness and debris removal.
