Hands-on training course in staged crime scene investigations

Background
The Executive Office for United States Attorneys (EOUSA) was established to facilitate close liaison between the Department of Justice and the 94 United States Attorneys across the country. This contract aims to provide law enforcement, medical professionals, and prosecutors with hands-on training in detecting and prosecuting staged crime scenes, particularly in intimate partner-related deaths, which are prevalent in tribal communities.

Work Details
The vendor shall provide a hands-on training course focused on staged crime scene murders, emphasizing intimate partner-related violence and strangulation. The training is designed for a multidisciplinary audience including prosecutors, forensic medical professionals, and investigative professionals. Key elements of the course include:

- Covering all aspects of case handling such as investigation, prosecution, and victim-family relations.
- Offering instruction relevant to all members of the case team.
- Providing opportunities for small group work using actual case scenarios.
- Placing special emphasis on cases occurring in Indian Country.

The instructors will be a multidisciplinary team of experts in domestic partner violence, crimes of strangulation, and staged crime scene investigation and prosecution. The course will consist of approximately 24 instructional hours over a period of 3.5 days.
