Description

Technologies can be remote or in-situ, should be self-recharging and should include communication technology for real-time detection from remote locations that don't have access to cellular signals. Technologies should be affordable and reliable and should ideally have the following characteristics: Have the capability to detect chlorophyll a (a surrogate for phytoplankton biomass) and phycocyanin (a surrogate for cyanobacteria biomass), and cyanotoxins. Have the capability to use a power source, communicate data in real-time from remote locations that may not have cellular signals and be self-cleaning (remote) or anti-fouling (in-situ) for long-term unattended monitoring. Achieve a quantified minimum detection limit for cyanobacteria biomass and toxins (based on the EPA resources provided). Minimum measurement frequency of every 2 hours
