Hines VAMC Fire Alarm Testing, Inspection and Preventative Maintenance, Base 4 Option Years   3

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking a contractor to provide fire alarm testing, inspection, and preventative maintenance services for the Hines VA Medical Center and the Joliet Community-Based Outpatient Clinic. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safety and compliance of fire alarm systems in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, thereby supporting the VA's mission to provide high-quality healthcare services to veterans.

Work Details
The contractor shall perform inspection, testing, and preventative maintenance for all existing equipment and devices of the station-wide fire alarm system and tornado/disaster/computer failure/all-clear alarm system at the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital and Joliet Outpatient Clinic. Services include:

1. Compliance with legal, regulatory, and industry standards including VA requirements, NFPA, TJC, UL, OSHA, and EPA.
2. All work must be performed by licensed and certified technicians with NICET II qualifications.
3. Coordination with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for scheduling work.
4. Conducting inspections on a quarterly and annual basis as specified for various fire safety devices including supervisory signal devices, tamper switches, detectors (smoke, heat), manual pull boxes, fire pumps, portable extinguishers, etc.
5. Providing necessary parts/software replacements using OEM components during maintenance.
6. Attending an orientation session before commencing work on-site which covers safety protocols and procedures.

Period of Performance
The contract period begins on April 1, 2025, and ends on March 31, 2026. There are four option years available for extension.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the Hines VA Medical Center located at 5000 South 5th Avenue, Hines, Illinois 60141 and the Joliet Outpatient Clinic at 1201 Eagle Street, Joliet, Illinois 60432.
